CODE09 GOING STRONG
The planning for Copenhagen Design 2009 in Bella Center is busily underway, meaning that professionals and all those with an interest in design can begin looking forward to CODE09.  Serving as a gathering point for the most outstanding trends in design, furniture, interior design, textile, lighting and architecture from 27-30 August, CODE09 will be a central part of Denmark's first international design week.

"We began sales work a couple of months ago and we truly have to say that CODE09 is making triumphal progress," says the very satisfied Bella Center Exhibition Manager, Lone Ann Disch.

According to Lone Ann Disch, the message that CODE09 calls for identity, image and self promotion is a major reason that so many companies are deciding to take part in the event; in addition, the fact that there is no counterpart to CODE in all of Scandinavia certainly attracts companies as well.

MEET THE FINEST
Even before the beginning of November, two very important exhibitors were in place, thereby guaranteeing the quality of the new exhibition concept.

These two exhibitors are among the most outstanding companies in their fields: Fritz Hansen and Normann Copenhagen, both of which look forward to being a part of the first edition of CODE09.

Fritz Hansen is undoubtedly synonymous with the highest quality furniture.
Fritz Hansen has cooperated with the greatest Danish furniture architects and is an inseparable part of the reputation that Danish furniture design enjoys around the world.

From its start, Fritz Hansen has had a fundamental belief in simplicity and minimalism, and that form and function must go hand in hand. With this approach, Fritz Hansen has consistently produced innovative furniture over the years in regard to concepts, design and materials.

Normann Copenhagen is the epitome of innovation when it comes to design and, in the company's own words, is "a way of living - a mindset".

Since 1999, Normann Copenhagen has challenged the conventional rules of design and today features more than 38 products in its own collection. Nothing is too out of the ordinary, including a rubber washing bowl, a silicone vase or a plastic dog.

There is a good reason that design connoisseurs around the world can find Normann Copenhagen products in more than 77 countries.

ARE FLOWERS DESIGN?
If CODE09 is to achieve its goal of becoming the leading design fair in Scandinavia and the industry's meeting place for new and innovative products, it is necessary to keep up with the latest trends.

Therefore, flowers are design in our world.

Dane Nicolai Bergmann has agreed to take a trip home to Denmark from Japan to show why he is one of the most well-known artists in the Empire of the Sun and a major name in the world of modern flower design.

Nicolai Bergmann has signed up for a stand at CODE09 and has also agreed to decorate Bella Center's foyer, thereby guaranteeing visitors a totally new experience even before they enter the fair area. Nicolai's work in Japan has opened the door for the flower industry to the worlds of fashion and design with his eye for colour, form, balance and detail.

CPH design: WEEK 09

When CODE09 opens its doors in August 2009, it will be a central part of Denmark's first international design week "CPH design: WEEK 09".

CPH design: WEEK 09, which runs from 27 August until 6 September, is coordinated by Danish Design Centre.  For an entire week, Copenhagen will buzz with activity and events in public spaces, design nights, exhibitions, conferences, presentations, workshops and, not least, the presentation of the most prestigious international design award INDEX:

Danish Design Centre will soon publish a brochure about the first and largest unifying design event in Denmark.
